Life is a series of choices made with the best of intentions. Mine have taken me from my beautiful home in Sussex County, Delaware to Washington, DC, and then to Panama City, Panama.

One stop along the way led me to a University of Maryland class called, How to Write a Novel. My professor Peter Petrosky thought I had a good premise. I wrote an outline, graduated, and promptly went back to my family and work. The digital files went to my hard drive and rested.

After raising two independent women artists, and seeing them both through graduation, I was able to refocus. In 2019, I moved to Panama and began writing in earnest.

With the help of many supportive friends and fellow writers from Tranquilo Retreat, the world of creative expression through written words was opened up for me. I’m thankful for them every day. With a mix of aw shucks and pride, the first of the Lucy Campbell stories has finally come to fruition.
